High Performance Two Stage Kit!

 This fascinating multistage rocket combines two cutting edge technologies, the InterStage 3000 staging system and the CPR3000 Close Proximity Recovery system.

38mm altitude records will be broken all over the country with this kit. (Thank heavens for CPR!) Both stages have a 38mm motor mount long enough to handle the RMS-38/720 case (J-350)!

The Thunder -N- Lightning is 2.560" ID and stands 91" tall in two stage configuration, and weighs in at approximately 96 oz. The Thunder -N- Lightning sustainer stage can be flown alone and is 62" tall and weighs about 60 ounces

You want to talk about extreme? This high performance, 54mm rocket kit is capable of extremely high altitude flights. The fully `glassed version has flown to 13,685 on an Aerotech K-185. The test vehicle was found relatively close to the launch pad even though it was launched in 20MPH winds, thanks to the Close Proximity Recovery system.

This kit comes with a 30" long booster to accommodate very long 54mm composite and even hybrid motors!
The Nimbus is not available with QT tubing. (QT is not recommended for minimum diameter rockets, rockets where the motor casing touches the QT directly)

For added structural integrity when using high impulse motors or for trans-sonic and supersonic flight, we highly recommend using the optional "Glass Wrap" fiberglass laminating kits

This kit is one of a series of high performance rocket kits using our CPR3000 system! The Sudden Rush has been flown many times at HPR launches nationwide and has a proven track record of successful Close Proximity Recoveries in windy conditions! This popular rocket includes the Kwik-Switch motor mount, 0.093" thick G-10 fins, a tail cone and of course, the CPR3000 Dual-Deployment Recovery System.

Here`s another great CPR favorite that`s now equipped with CPR3000, the Eclipse!

This 4" diameter by 84" tall rocket comes standard with our Close Proximity Recovery 3000 system, 0.062" G-10 fins, Quantum Tube Airframe and all the other great attributes of a PML kit! The Eclipse comes with a 54mm Kwik-Switch 2000 motor mount, a 54" main chute, and an 18" drogue chute, standard. If you`ve wanted to try CPR, the Eclipse is a great way to do it!

This is the 2.1 inch version of our popular Black Brant X as shown on our Scale Kits page, but this one is fully-equipped with our CPR3000 Dual-Deployment Recovery System! The Mini BBX is very close to true scale and comes with detailed painting instructions. The Mini BBX is perfect for Level 1 Cert flights as it flies using high-impulse G through I motors in its 29mm MMT. The tail cone at the base of the rocket is designed to fit the optional Terrier Booster Stage for a truly authentic Black Brant X two-stage flight. The CPR3000 Mini BBX kit includes a Quantum Tube airframe, a specially designed tail cone, and G-10 fins, as well as the CPR3000 system. Add an altimeter as discussed on the top of this page and you`re ready to fly! The Mini-BBX CANNOT use a motor retainer of any kind if it will someday be used with the Terrier booster. Sorry

Turn your Mini-BBX into a real, high-flying two stage rocket. This is a very close scale replica of the bottom stage of the Black Brant X sounding rocket. Slip it under the PML Mini-BBX and you will have the complete, scale rocket! You can easily double the altitude and have the thrill of two stage flying without all the usual guesswork of a "standard" or scratch-built two-stage rocket. (We recommend the CPR version of the MiniBBX as the best for the Terrier. This is due to the tremendous altitudes the Terrier/MiniBBX combo will reach, and also because a CPR-based MiniBBX will still deploy the `chutes even if the sustainer stage doesn`t ignite, saving the rocket). The Terrier Booster is easy to assemble and very easy to prep. We spent months developing the best and most reliable inter-stage coupler on the market just for this kit.

However, with this kind of performance, there`s one thing we`ve always wanted to bring to the Q-Leap, and now it`s here! The Quantum Leap 3000, with PML`s famous CPR3000 system! The new Quantum Leap 3000 also includes the new Interstage 3000 staging adapter system first seen in the Terrier booster for our MiniBBX. The new Interstage 3000 system is much easier to prep and use than the previous interstage coupler design, and comes complete with timer mounts and remote safety switch
